1. Rules and Regulations

1.1. Regulations

“DH Buzet 2013” is a UCI Class 2 event, held under UCI Regulations, Croatian Cycling Federation (CCF) MTB technical regulation.

With participation in final race, qualifying and official practice all competitors accept these regulations and ride at their own risk. Organizer bears no responsibility for actions of competitors towards third parties.

Participants under 18 years of age are obliged to present parents’ approval with club president and parent signature. Information about contact (address, phone number, cell‐phone number) must be provided for verification. All participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (club or family member) who is responsible for them.

1.2. Participation

The number of participants is limited to 300.

1.2.1. Categories

DH Buzet shall be run in following categories for International calendar:

  • Elite Men (ME) – 17 years and over
  • Elite Women (WE) 17 years and over

There will be several national categories included on national race level too: Master, Hobby…

1.2.2. Registration:

  • Pre‐registration through the link on the www.downhillbuzet.net. Online registration closes at 23:59 May 07, 2013.
  • Late entry is charged additional 50% of the registration fee,
  • Registration (number pick up) May 10h 18:00 –19:30 or May 11th 09:00 – 12:00 at race office

1.2.3. Schedule and Fees

  • Registration Fee:
    • According to the licence holder’s national Federation decision/regulation on the fee amount of DH Cup races, but no less than 200kn/30€. If such a regulations/decision isn’t present the registration fee is fixed at 35€.
  • One‐day licence (for categories on national level)
    • Competitors without licence can participate under following condition: One‐day licence fee must be paid to organizers account until May 08th 2013 (Wednesday) by 12.00 PM in amount of 50,00kn (7€). Copy of payment certificate must be sent via e‐mail (prijave@downhillbuzet.net). Organizer will make one‐day licence with Croatian cyclingfederation (CCF).
    • All foreign participants pay the one‐day licence fee in person at the race office.

      • 15:00‐18:00 Qualifying run
      • 18:30‐18:45 Team managers meeting
      • 20:00‐24:00 Entertainment programme
    • Sunday:
      • 10:00‐13:00 Official training without breaks
      • 13:00‐13:30 Official training TOP 30
      • 14:30‐17:00 Finals
      • Prize giving – 30 minutes after the end of the Finals

1.2.4. Qualifying and Final run

Qualifying run will be held on Saturday 11.05.2013. for all participants who paid the registration fee, picked the number and has finished two training runs.

In the Final run enters 250 participants.

The Commissaire panel can enforce the UCI rule 4.5.031 accordingly to the starting list of the Qualifying run with the possibility of making exceptions.

The Final run is held on Sunday 12.05.2013.

1.3. Race Headquarters & Press Center

Race Headquarters & Press Center will be located indoor at the “Istarska pivovara” brewery offices (address: Most 24, 52420 Buzet). For other race facilities see the attached venue map.

1.4. Anti‐Doping

All races are conducted under NADA (HADA) and UCI anti‐doping regulations.

1.5. First‐Aid / EMT’s

First Aid service will be located at the Finish area. The nearest First aid ambulance is located just 2 km from the finish line (address: Goricica 1, 52420 Buzet) and the nearest hospital is located 45 km from Buzet at the City of Rijeka (address: Kresimirova 42, 51000 Rijeka). First‐Aid will have an ambulance vehicle stationed at the event for transport.

1.6. Start Order & Staging Protocol

The start order will be determined by the order of latest published UCI downhill point classification in reverse order, as posted on the UCI website. Riders without UCI points will be determined by drawing lot.

1.7. Transportation

Transportation for all competitors is organized during official training, qualifying and finals with shuttles and it’s included in the registration fee. Transportation time is 10 min from finish line to start (approximately 120 competitors per hour)..

During the Open course for riding on Friday from 15:30‐18:30 transportation will be available with paying:

  • if you reserved transport through submissions the price is 60 kn (8 €) ‐ pay in the office of the race
  • 75 kn (10 €) ‐ pay in the office of the race

1.8. Time keeping

Timing and data management will be carried out by certified company in accordance with CCF regulations with the use of photo cells. About 800 meters from the start a timing hot spot with the intermediate time will be placed.

1.9. Prizes and point scale

The list below is for UCI categories Elite Men and Women:

  • 1. place= 30 points = Men(ELM) 300 € | Women(ELŽ) 180 €
  • 2. place= 20 points = Men(ELM) 150 € | Women(ELŽ) 140 €
  • 3. place= 15 points = Men(ELM) 100 € | Women(ELŽ) 80 €
  • 4. place= 12 points = Men(ELM) 80 € | Women (ELŽ) 40 €
  • 5. place= 10 points = Men(ELM) 65 €
  • 6. place= 8 points = Men(ELM) 55 €
  • 7. place= 6 points = Men(ELM) 50 €
  • 8. place= 4 points = Men (ELM) 40 €
  • 9. place = 2 points
  • 10. place = 1 point

1.10. Appeals

Appeals shall be admitted 15 minutes after the announcement of the results by paying 150kn (20€).

2. Course

2.1. Length and elevation

  • Course length: 1700 m
  • Elevation Loss/Gain: 282m

2.2. Description:

The course offers a variety of technical bike handling skills. The course comprises varied terrain sections: narrow and broad tracks, woodland roads and paths, field paths and rocky tracks.

3. Directions & Map

The most detailed driving directions about getting to Buzet can be found at the www.viamichelin.com. There you can enter your departure point and as your arrival point. You have to choose Croatia in a country field and enter “Buzet” in the city field.
